This course is designed to develop an awareness of the responsibilities and opportunities of the office professional in preparing for and conducting meetings, making travel arrangements, filing and retaining records for future use. Emphasis is placed on current operating functions of the office clerk and administrative assistants, their ability to coordinate travel and business events, office practices and procedures, work habits and recording of important data and information. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively function in an office support role.

Before embarking on this course, students are given an English Proficiency Test which determines their level of competence and pinpoints their weaknesses. The course’s content is geared toward strengthening those areas where students have consistently shown a lack of understanding.
