Message From Student Body President 2016-2017
Hello, my name is Cherline Dabel. I am the student body president of the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College (Grand Turk Campus).
We, the guild of students, are a collaboration of students with a shared vision of the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College’s possibilities for greatness in every field of endeavour. It is a team that understands the need for determination and continuity of effort. We are only too aware of the obstacles we may face, but we have every confidence in the capacity of our unified efforts to overcome. We intend to organize various social activities, which will assist in improving the quality of campus life for the students of the TCICC.
I am honoured and humbled to serve as your Guild President for this academic year and I look forward to a new and exciting year, filled with fun activities, fundraisers, and school spirit. Without a doubt, this year will be one to remember.
We the Student Guild have made it of top importance to be the bridge between students and administration. The opportunity of being the Student Guild has present us the keen responsibility of ensuring the voice of the students is heard, as well as, providing both a conducive and fun environment for the students. When students leave the grounds of the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College, not only will they leave with a degree, but memories they will treasure filled with long-lasting friends and reminiscent times. Therefore, with utmost pride, our goal is to ensure the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College’s brilliance continues to grow and shine brightly through its students, the Turks and Caicos, and beyond!

Student Body President (2016-2017)
I am a dedicated, hard-working, vivacious, and self-motivated individual. My time spent at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College has not only allowed me to obtain a tertiary level education, but it has also developed numerous skills which will prove to be quite monumental in my success in the near future. During my tenure at the TCICC, I have truly formed lifelong bonds with amazing students. The lecturers are equally as amazing. Lecturers such as Mr. L. James, Mr. A. Jones, Mrs. D. Blackman, Mr. Pickersgrill, etc… They always try their utmost best to ensure that everyone grasps the concept. The lecturers make it their duty to go the extra mile and not only lecture but “teach”. This is an experience that I am truly grateful to have had. Furthermore, I believe my continued participation in various school events and enhancement of skills has been quite beneficial to me from both an academic and social standpoint. In this environment, there is a surreal feeling of care. Everyone genuinely wants you to excel and they always do everything they can to ensure that you do just that.

The Turks and Caicos Islands Community College has inspired me to work hard for a better tomorrow. The lecturers are very friendly and easy to communicate with. They try their utmost best in helping me understand the courses. The environment of the college allows me to study hard and play hard. From studying for an exam to playing dominoes under the tree with friends, I am enjoying every step of the way!

My TCICC experience is great so far. I’ve learned so many new things. I’ve met new people -who are now my friends- and lecturers. My favorite things to do at the college are playing dominoes with friends and simply having fun with my friends around the campus. I’m glad I made the decision of attending the TCICC!

To be a part of the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College is like having more than one opportunity being presented in front of you. The lectures not only teach but also make the courses fun and manageable. They help one find his or her way to succeed in class. Recreations I enjoy are reading in the library to calm the mind, and hanging out with friends!

Being a student in the General Studies Science Program can be quite chaotic. From jam-packed schedules to late-night classes, but I think that’s what makes life here at TCICC exciting. As soon as you walk through the gates, you see students walking to their classes, people playing dominoes under the infamous tree and let’s not forget the donkeys that make up the majority of the population at school. Everyone here is inviting and nice, including the lecturers. The lecturers I’ve had are the best. They help you, teach you and understand you. I hope you get the chance to attend the TCICC. It will be just as fun and helpful to you as it was for me!
