Mrs. Kerry Ann Mason
Mrs. Kerry Ann Mason received her M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education with a major
in Special Education from The University of Texas Austin in 2004. She is also a
Graduate of the Shortwood Teachers College, Kinston, Jamaica and Queens College
of the City University of New York.
She worked as Teacher of Geography, Social Studies and History for 5 years in
Jamaica at Merl Grove High School. She later joined the Staff at Stella Marris
Academy (A school for Exceptional Learners) in Belize City Central America. In 2005
she joined the faculty of St. Johns College Junior College as a Teacher Trainer and
Lecturer of various courses in the social sciences. She was appointed Director of
Early childhood Education and Literacy for the country of Belize in 2012.
She has served as an adjunct lecturer for The University of the West Indies and the
University of Belize. She also served as an external examiner of Geography for CSEC
and CAPE and JBTE (Joint Board of Teacher Education).
Mrs. Mason is currently working at The Turks and Caicos Islands Community college
where she serves as Deputy Chair of the Faculty of Education and Training. Research
interest currently relates to the training of teachers to function effectively in inclusive
educational settings in small island states.
