Mrs. Aneka K. Hutchinson, CGSP

Lecturer & Deputy Chair for the Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism Management

Mrs Aneka Hutchinson, a Certified Guest Services Professional (CGSP), currently serves as Lecturer and Assistant Chair for the Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism Management at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College, Grand Turk.  In 2014, Mrs Hutchinson earned her Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership from the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), Connecticut, USA.  She completed a joint Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of the West Indies, Mona (UWI) and the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech), in 2006.  Recently, she has completed multiple short courses in areas such as Events Planning, Facilitating Online Courses and Job Readiness Train-the-Trainer, among others.

Prior to her appointment as Lecturer at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College, she served as the Assistant Dean of Apprenticeship Programmes and Business Services Manager at the International University of the Caribbean in Jamaica.  During her tenure, she delivered TVET courses in Hospitality, as well as, Hospitality and Tourism courses at the Associate Degree level.  Mrs Hutchinson has experience delivering content for the Level 5 Higher National Diploma in International Travel and Tourism Management (Aviation) at The American Institute of Management Sciences (AIM), using online, blended and face-to-face modalities.  She is a member of an external examination script marking team for Travel and Tourism. Mrs Hutchinson has experience in curriculum development and review at the undergraduate level. Additionally, she voluntarily contributed feedback during the review of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Tourism Syllabus in 2020.

Mrs Hutchinson has an interest in curriculum development, educational technology and career counselling.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, travelling and experiencing various destinations, reading and listening to music.
