Dr Mube J.O. Mubewafor

Dean of Academics

Greetings! On behalf of the faculty, staff and students at the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College (TCICC), I am immensely pleased to welcome you to our Web site. Established in 1994, TCICC is the first tertiary institution in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI). The College offers several 2-year and 4-year degree programs.

Our website has been designed as a gateway to the many academic programs the College offers at both the associate and undergraduate levels. These programs will spark your imagination and expand your horizons, while at the same time helping you acquire the skills necessary for success in hundreds of satisfying careers. The website will introduce you to the wealth of services the College staff provide to students, including academic advising.

TCICC is a student-centered institution and we pride ourselves on the personal attention we afford students. TCICC faculty take special interest in helping students achieve at the highest levels. Each year, students work individually with faculty members on independent study and research projects. These experiences enable students to develop a deep understanding of a discipline, acquire problem-solving skills, and prepare for graduate work or professional careers.

Faculty advisors in each of our Faculties are also available to advise students about internships, courses, and careers as well as talk to them about their long-range aspirations and immediate concerns. We are proud of our long and distinguished history and of the accomplishments of our faculty and alumni who continue to make important contributions to various professions. Please use this site to explore the wide variety of programs we offer.

Our College prepares the highest caliber of graduates who go on to serve throughout the world making positive contributions to their various professions. Through numerous educational experiences, research and community service, our students and faculty find opportunities to grow, both personally and professionally.

TCICC offers courses, certificates, and professional development programs that meet the needs of traditional and non-traditional students and adult professional learners. Our partnerships with business and community leaders will provide you the opportunity to apply what you learn in the classroom to the real-world.

The TCICC experience is demanding, but it is eminently rewarding. Here, you can follow your curiosity to explore new things, to encounter new ideas and discover your own capabilities; you can have the adventure of relating to people of other cultures; with the help of a caring faculty, you will have the opportunity to clarify and put in place your own values and principles.

To the prospective student: I hope you will research the wide array of academic program offerings we have to offer and the exceptional caliber of the faculty that will be guiding your academic journey if you elect to come here. You will find an intellectually challenging environment but also one where your professors mentor you and support your efforts to meet the high standards of the classroom and reach excellence. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities that hone your leadership skills abound in the form of active student clubs, and a scholastic society.

We also prepare students for a flexible future so they are equipped to go out and make a difference in the world. We are committed to connecting students with the passion they have for a successful, meaningful career.

Whether you are a prospective student or a potential new faculty member, I encourage you to explore and avail yourselves to the breadth of information included in our newly designed website.

Thank you for your interest in the TCICC. Please feel free to contact the Dean’s Office if you require further information. I also encourage you to visit our campus and learn first-hand the many advantages of a TCICC education.
