Associate Degree in General Studies (Humanities) Full-Time
STRUCTURE
The Associate Degree Programme in General Studies is a more general and flexible programme that provides the opportunity for students to choose a range of courses that meet their academic and professional needs as well as meet the demands of the workplace in society. Overall, students should complete a total of 68 credits to obtain the Associate Degree.
OBJECTIVES:
This programme is designed to enable both the GCE “A” Level, C.X.C CAPE and nonGCE “A” Level students to obtain an Associate Degree in General Studies, with a combination of courses that will cater to the particular needs and interests of the students. Students must pursue THREE areas of concentration and along with the General Education requirements to satisfy the Associate Degree requirements.
FIRST YEAR STUDENTS: In Semester 1, students are expected to do ALL *General College Courses and a total of 9 credits chosen from THREE of FOUR options. Overall, students should have 18 credits. In Semester 2, students are expected to do ALL General College Courses and a total of 9 credits chosen from THREE of FOUR options. Overall, students should have 16 credits. N.B. At the end of the FIRST YEAR, students should have completed a total of 34 credits.
