Structure

The Associate Degree is a flexable program that enables both the GCE A Level, CXC CAPE and non-GCE A level students to obtain an Associate Degree in Technical & Vocational Education (TVE), through pure science theory courses coupled with laboratory analyticals skills as a foundation to cater to the future needs and interests of the students.

A total of 78 credits is needed to matriculate for this program.

Learning Outcomes

Students will pursue their studies as follows:

  • eight General Education courses totalling 22 credits
  • compulsory concentration courses to satisfy the minimum Associate of Science Degree requirements totaling 39 credits
  • one laboratory component for each compulsory science course totaling 12 credits
  • two compulsory electives taken from any course offered by the college amounting to a total of 6 credits.
  • Compulsory Research Project for a major/core program (BIO or CHM = 3 credits

Learning Objectives

This program provides instruction in architectural office practices used in the production of detailed drawings and related information required to produce construction documents for the construction of buildings. Emphasis is placed on an understanding of Architecture through learning computer-aided drafting. The program also includes classes that develop the students communication skills.

The Office of the Registrar provides support to students, faculty, staff, and alumni while being guided by the commitment to be student centered and promote student success. The office directs the recruitment process, maintains student academic records, issues grades and transcripts, monitors compliance with academic standards of progress, reviews degree completion for graduation, issues diplomas, reviews student requests regarding readmission, and other purposes, processes transient student requests, prepares the academic catalog and schedule of classes, and organizes commencement ceremonies.
